About

Biography

My journey into Computer Science began in high school when I took an introductory programming course and encountered HTML and CSS for the first time. What started as curiosity quickly became something much larger. I was fascinated by the ability to take an idea, translate it into code, and create something that actually worked. At the time, I had no idea that introduction would set me on the path I am following today.

After graduating from high school, I pursued a B.S. in Computer Science at Georgia Southern University. There, I moved beyond web development and began learning Java, which was my first major step into more complex software development. It was challenging at first, but as my understanding grew, so did my interest in software engineering, computer systems, networking, and eventually cybersecurity. I began expanding into languages such as Python, C, C++, and C#, while applying what I learned to increasingly ambitious projects.

One of the defining experiences of my undergraduate education was working on a deep-learning medical image segmentation system. Built with Python, PyQt6, and U-Net, the project used deep learning to analyze 3D medical scans and identify anatomical structures. Working collaboratively on a system that brought together artificial intelligence, software engineering, and medical imaging showed me how computing could be applied to complex, real-world problems. The project contributed to our team earning 1st Place at the 2026 Student Research Symposium in the Paulson College Computing Awards.

My growing interest in cybersecurity also led me to begin developing Vigilo, a security and moderation system designed to protect online communities. Vigilo combines machine-learning classification, OCR-based analysis, behavioral enforcement, and automated moderation to identify scams, phishing attempts, and potentially malicious content. Building the system has allowed me to explore cybersecurity from an engineering perspective—not simply understanding threats, but designing software capable of recognizing and responding to them.

I graduated from Georgia Southern University with my B.S. in Computer Science in May 2026, but I see that milestone as the beginning rather than the end of my education. In August 2026, I began pursuing my M.S. in Cybersecurity and Privacy at the University of Georgia, where I am continuing to deepen my understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, computer systems, and security-conscious software engineering.

Looking back, the distance between writing my first HTML page in high school and developing machine-learning and cybersecurity systems is something I could not have imagined when I started. There is still far more that I want to learn. My goal is to continue growing as both a computer scientist and engineer while building secure, dependable technology that solves meaningful problems.

Outside of Computer Science, I enjoy learning languages, traveling, playing saxophone, and writing fiction. I have played saxophone for over eight years and have also written a novel that I hope to publish in the future. Whether I am programming, writing, or learning something entirely new, curiosity and the desire to create have remained constants throughout my life.
